“To the fans and everybody in Skee Nation, I’m sorry. I’m extremely sorry. We were hoping for an undefeated skeeson. That was my goal, something The Tim Skeebows have never done here. I promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this. You will never see any roller in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of the skeeson. You will never see someone push the rest of the team as I will push everybody the rest of the skeeson. You will never see a team play harder than we will the rest of the skeeson. God Bless.” — CT Smith, 4/16/09 after losing to John MacEnroll
So just when I was getting ready to count The Skeebows out for this skeeson, they step up to the plate and roll an 898 – only one week after Margaskeeta Man set the record at 897. Amazing…absolutely amazing. Especially the way the match ended (video below obviously), but let’s recap how they got to that 898.
For starters, Shanna couldn’t make the match because apparently she’s allergic to hoodies. Weak sauce. So they picked up Danielle’s cousin Matt aka “Kush”…and Kush he did. I’ve never (and this is a very bold statement, so make sure you’re sitting down when you read this), I repeat I have never seen anyone find their 40 as quick as this kid did. It was unbelievable to watch. Even G down in Charlotte took two weeks to get the hang. Not Matt – he came in guns a blazing and rolled 34 and 34 after 32 and 32 and finished with a very strong 291. Very strong. If any team out there is looking for a third for the remainder of the skeeson (cough cough John MacEnroll cough cough), Matt could be a hell of a pickup. Here’s Matt rolling one of his 340s…he’s on the left lane:
And finally, the way it got to 898. CT was the last roller and knew he needed a 38 to tie the record (897). With one ball left he had a 29. So of course he went for the hundo. And……
Great match, and nice job Skeebows! 898 will stand as the record…but for how long? Who will be the first squad to eclipse the 900 milestone in Raleigh? Skeet Shooters? Margaskeeta Man? Skeebows? Skee Amigas? Undefeated Big Lebowskees? Skeem Milk? Someone else? The race to 900 is on!
